A grid of huts onto bumpy ground, a relaxed scatter onto a cliff. It keeps the layout you designed and only changes the height, which is the difference from scattering directly: there you get the surface's arrangement, here you get yours.
It searches both directions, so a layout built above or below the terrain both land. A point that misses stays where it was rather than vanishing. Points that hit pick up the slope, so trees stand up correctly on a hillside.
