Fracture works on convex solids and replaces anything else with its hull, so text becomes a lozenge and a ring fills in. This clips the cracks to the actual outline, so holes stay holes and notches stay empty.
Shattered logos and text, cracked mud, broken glass, crazy paving, tiled floors.
Wire points in and it stops being a cracker: the points become the cell centres, so a row of them gives planks, two staggered rows give overlapping boards, and a ring gives scales. That is how plank, lamellar and scale construction get made.
